The autumn-winter season started in a very different way from the previous ones. Without social events and with a more than evident decline in international catwalks, the bag has become one of the key pieces in outfits . Without a doubt, in the case of the i
conic and high-value pieces on the market, it is one of the most timeless, durable accessories with an increasing value as the years go by. Despite the existence of iconic pieces in the main luxury houses, in terms of bags there are also trends of the most emblematic bags.
The models that have triumphed in the little ‘street style’ that the last Fashion Weeks have left us, have been the ‘comebacks’ (the ‘Baguette’ by Fendi) and the reinterpretations of the ‘Saddle’ of Dior.
Here are the six types of bags that are and will be a trend throughout the fall-winter. Take note of the main ‘masons’, get inspired and find the ‘clones’ in more affordable firms and establishments.
1. The ‘vintage’ inspiration
This fall, the ‘vintage’ inspired bags with nozzle closure will cease to be the silent trend of recent seasons. Between the discreet versions of Tory Burch and Celine, and the more decadent one by Lanvin, there are as many models as the imagination reaches: the mesh one with floral print by Paco Rabanne, the “jewel” by Erdem or the one by Miu, with its classic ‘matelassé’.
2. With links
That the accessories with links are one of the ‘top’ trends of this fall-winter is no secret. Just take a look at the shows of the season to find one of the most repeated details in the different collections.
Created by Silvia Venturini Fendi for Fendi in 1997 and transformed into an object of desire for half the planet, this long, narrow, short-handled bag has survived a decade of superlative trends. The most daring and modern options go through the striking colors or the classic brown and black monogram of the Italian firm.
The fringes in all their versions are, with the permission of the links, the detail that your accessories need for the beginning of 2021 ‘top’. From leather classics (whether they are extra-long, like Bottega Veneta; short, like Fendi; or in a ‘charm’ key, like Balmain), to string and bead versions from Prada, Dries Van Noten and Paco Rabanne: put a fringe in your life.
5. The ‘pouch’
This design was one of the most sought after last season and repeats this season as one of the models from Bottega Veneta’s “continuation” and timeless line. A minimalist design made of leather, which simply closes like a ‘clutch’, generating small folds in its structure. Without a doubt, it has marked a before and after for the firm, but also for a large part of the textile industry.
6. Size XXS
If the ‘maxi’ are sometimes complicated, the ‘micro’ cannot even be classified as bags,
but rather as decorative accessories or, in any case, as holders of coins, headphones
and other kinds of small objects. Whether hanging from the belt as proposed by
Chanel and Fendi, around the neck like Prada or a ‘charm’ type like Versace, XXS
bags are not versatile, but they are a trend for the coming months.
